Bio
I grew up in Windsor, right across from Detroit, the Motor City. Surrounded by suburbia, concrete, freeways, and drainage ditches, there were still little pockets of wilderness that called to me from an early age.
I am of Dutch and Greek ancestry. My mother’s family emigrated to Canada from Netherlands after the Second World War, and my father came from Greece in his twenties in search of a better life. I grew up attending Greek school, learning traditional dance, and spending Sundays in the Greek Orthodox Church. Later in life, I began exploring my Dutch roots more deeply and discovered the richness of that lineage as well.
Ancestral healing and reconnecting with my roots have become central to my path. Through practices such as family constellations, lineage inquiry, ritual, and somatic healing, I’ve come to understand that this work is not only about tending inherited pain, but also reclaiming the gifts, strengths, beauty, and wisdom that live within our bloodlines.
Nature has always felt like home to me. Much of my childhood was spent in gardens, forests, and wild edges of the city. My mother loved flowers, while my father tended fruit and vegetable gardens. Though I am grateful for my family and the relationship we have today, my early life was also marked by trauma. Like many sensitive children, I found refuge in nature, books, art, and imagination.
In my teenage years, I embraced music wholeheartedly, from rock and roll to hip hop, concerts, festivals, and the sense of freedom and belonging music can bring.
Travel later became another great teacher. I have lived in South Korea, Thailand, Australia, Vancouver Island, and Costa Rica, while exploring many other places along the way. Each landscape, culture, and community has shaped me deeply.
Later still, chronic illness and autoimmune flare-ups brought me back to the healing path in a deeper way. I came to understand the profound relationship between trauma, nervous system dysregulation, boundaries, and dis-ease.
For over 13 years, I have studied and practiced a range of healing arts including massage and bodywork, yoga, meditation, reiki, Ayurveda, herbalism, flower essence therapy, ancestral healing, somatic approaches, and spiritual inquiry. I continue to deepen my studies through trauma-informed healing, family systems work, and biodynamic craniosacral therapy.
For the past few years, I have also worked aboard luxury superyachts as a wellness practitioner, offering massage, bodywork, and holistic care in unique and high-pressure environments. This chapter has taught me a great deal about presence, adaptability, discretion, and tending to others wherever healing is needed.
Over time, two modalities helped everything come together for me: flower essences and somatic healing. Both are rooted in ancient wisdom that recognizes plants as intelligent allies and the body as a keeper of truth. They continue to shape my understanding of healing in profound ways.
My work is inspired by three guiding themes:
Blood
Ancestry, lineage, and inherited patterns
Bone
Embodiment, resilience, and nervous system healing
Bloom
Beauty, joy, expression, and plant wisdom
Together, they form Blood Bone Bloom.
I do not see myself as an authority over anyone’s healing journey. Rather, I see myself as a guide and witness, helping you listen more deeply to your body, reconnect with your own wisdom, and remember your innate wholeness.
It is an honour to offer this work.
Thank you for being here and may you be in bloom,
Jo

“O most honored Greening Force, You who roots in the Sun;
You who lights up, in shining serenity, within a wheel that earthly excellence fails to comprehend.
You are enfolded in the weaving of divine mysteries.
You redden like the dawn
and you burn: flame of the Sun.”
